Flew them back and forth from the hotel by exit seven on the Jersey Turnpike.and the racetrack
. The downcard was The Marshal Tucker Band along with The New Riders of the Purple Sage. It was my son’s third birthday as well as my first time my flying at night as a civilian pilot. The next day l told someone that l had flown some band named The Greatful Dead. I didn’t have a clue. Jerry Garcia ? Who’s he ? Duh ! The prior spring l was lettering a wall in Burlington, Vermont when two guys asked me if l could design a logo and paint a sign for their new ice cream shop. I told them I couldn’t because I was moving to New Jersey to fly helicopters. Now you know the rest of the story…”Gu-day”! Ben & Jerry’s Cherry Garcia. I came so close. Ah well .Call George Pisa and ask him to tell you his story…

I was there behind-the-scenes working with the band and managing all the helicopter travel in and out.

It was more epic than you can imagine

I was there also. I lived in East Windsor, going to grad school at nearby Princeton University. One recollection I have is that I needed a new muffler for my car because so many people tried to hitch a ride on the way out by sitting on the back of my car.
