Barton Hall 5/8/77

the May 8, 1977 show at Cornell University's Barton Hall is considered by many to be the best Grateful Dead show of all time. This show has something for everyone, including new Deadheads, and is a good way to understand the band's unique qualities and wide range.

Love ANYTHING by the Dead, even their “bad” stuff !
Best version of Dancing In The Streets ever recorded.
That entire Spring ‘77 was especially strong and tight, stuff of legend. My first Grateful Dead show was 20 days after the Barton Hall concert on May 28, 1977, Hartford, CT. The Hartford show had been tacked onto the end of the Spring ’77 tour, and was captured and dropped on the Rhino release, “To Terrapin.” Of course I’m biased because I was there, and this is all subjective, but I think Hartford was the best, the culmination of that legendary tour.
Hartford ’77 (To Terrapin) might be the best from the ’77 releases. It Rocks! Plus it has Sampson & TJed. Only 20 days after Cornell. I think it is out of print, tho.
I love the fact that you are listening to this. Love it and I will be back
