Legion Of Mary 1975 The Bottom Line NYC WBAI
Share
The Legion of Mary, aka Garcia & Saunders, electrified The Bottom Line in New York City on April 9, 1975. This legendary performance was captured live by WBAI FM, a Pacifica Radio Network station. Featuring both early and late sets, the recording is widely believed to be a coveted "Betty Board" (unconfirmed).
The band, known as Garcia & Saunders until saxophonist Martin Fierro joined in 1973, rebranded as The Legion of Mary. Despite their short-lived existence (July 1974 to July 1975), they left an indelible mark on the music scene with only about 60 live shows.
The Legion of Mary lineup for this historic night included:
- Jerry Garcia - Guitar, Vocals
- Merl Saunders - Organ, Vocals
- Martin Fierro - Saxophone, Flute
- John Kahn - Bass
- Ron Tutt - Drums

Would love to get a CD of this line up of songs. Is there a way to get it. Love the Legion of Mary. I had never heard about it. If you could let me know how to get a CD I’d appreciate it.
