❤️⚡💙✌ While the band didn't play many Fourth of July shows, you knew a smokin' "U.S. Blues" was almost guaranteed if they did. And that's exactly how the Dead capped off their legendary 1989 Buffalo show! The set kicked off with a scorching "Bertha," Jerry weaving magic with his leads. A light drizzle reportedly graced the scene as the Dead then delivered a perfectly fitting "Cold Rain and Snow." Brent Mydland absolutely crushed it on the keys, adding a layer of melancholic beauty that the whole band built on. Things kept heating up with a killer "Walkin' Blues," Brent once again setting the keyboards ablaze while Bobby and Jerry traded fiery licks. The following "Row Jimmy" was pure Dead magic, a moment of pure, blissful beauty. After a stellar "Masterpiece" and a rollicking "Stagger Lee," the set closed on a high note with phenomenal versions of "Looks Like Rain" and "Deal." This show is a true gem, a perfect example of the Dead's live magic. What are your favorite moments from the 7/4/89 Buffalo show?
